I love the book cover of JayZ’s, “Decoded”. Publishers are pushing the design envelope in order to keep print books relevant. Great news for us design geeks. Plus, I’m really curious to read about JayZ. he’s obviously a really smart man.

I walked behind tourists whom I overheard ask, “Can you find Michele Varian?” I said, “I am Michele Varian and my store is 1 block up.” They were referring to Sibella’s book, which they showed me and I got to see the photos of my store in her book! - Yay.

I picked up my copy of Sibella Courts new book today.
A Stylists Guide to NYC.
There are no words to describe how beautiful this book is. I have lived in New York before and this book makes me want to move back.
Once again Sibella has taken it to a whole new level.

Just In: Bad-Ass Bookends. These remind me of my sisters and me playing in our cowGIRL outfits when we were kids. We had holsters and pistols that went, “click, click, CLICK!” (pretend play dead, please)
Western Bookends $98/Set of 2

I feel the person who owns these shelves must be my doppelganger. I’ve seen photos of shelves like these before and I love that they are reclaimed wood joists, but the Cafe Bustelo can and back issues of National Geographic? They must be me! (except that I could never get round to organizing my books by color)

Time to refer to my book of recipes. I jot them down and each time I make things, if I remember, I write down what I’ve done differently. I don’t think anything has ever come out the same twice, I kind of like to take the family treasures and tweak them a bit.

For Whomever has won the Life Journal: Take a page from Charles Eames in letter writing/journaling. It’s taken me a while to interpret, but I love it.
