Just In: Duchess Cyclops and Duchess Weinheimer Altered Vintage Plates. Oh, and yes there are more. The Mousketeer Washington and Burger Queen. They are all very humorous, but gloriously good looking.
They are all available at our store:

Just In: Bird Brain and Albino Afro Man Altered Vintage Plates.  These 2 somehow seem like metaphors/caricatures for people I know.
The humorous and slightly twisted portraits combined with traditionally super luxe plates (Oh yeah, some have been Limoge) make them one of my favorite new discoveries. They are limited edition, according to how many of each style plate were available. They look beautiful hanging on the wall, but are also food safe.

I’ve always wanted to create a wall of tools. While I’ve collected a few stunners over the years, the inconvenience of dragging them home has prevented what could have been a bunch of cool additions. I first saw a stunning collection in World of Interiors years ago. I still have the tear sheets. Not only am I always attracted to mechanical things, I love the way they create beautiful positive and negative spaces when arranged artfully. I’m very jealous. Pinky, I think I need to spend more time at your friend’s house!

I love the curtain pull backs in this photo. So smart. I wish I had thought of it. They’re kinda screamin’ my name!

AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL enamel plates. I hadn’t seen these Hella Jongerius enamel plates before, even though they’re from 2007, probably because they were a special commission.
A contemporary interpretation of an almost lost craft: ‘shippo cloisonné’ or ‘enamel’. The piece not only reinterprets old decorations, but also employs untreated copper, which will eventually turn black /green.

The “Blue Nude Room” was a favorite by us and most of our neighbors. A muralist had painted all 4 walls with extremely animated nude statues in pretty spectacular cloisters. I have to think it was once a fabulous flower room. While we lived there it survived the indignity of ketchup and jam fights, but it was the need to insulate the walls that was it’s final undoing. Sadly it is a very beige TV room now.

This one-tooth wonder is on the front porch of my parent’s house. Come on, you didn’t think after the intro to my ‘hood my own house would be without character. He has a friend who looks less like the village idiot. Our house was built just around the time of the influenza pandemic which killed 50million people. This guy looks like he survived because he had a strong body and weak mind.

This is the most sedate of the “Blue Nudes”. Boring really. Those are chunks of the ceiling that came down unexpectedly one day.  Old houses are fun.

Willy Wonka for execs? You may have seen the beautiful concrete slide built for a toddler in Indonesia to get from his 2nd floor bedroom to the first floor kitchen. While that kid is REALLY cute, this guy looks like he’s having more fun.
